SHOT RECEE_1

Opening and closing shot recee

The majority of the shots in the film are being shot in my neighbour's house and the park outside our houses.

Since the park is made up of a lot of tight spaces we went on a recee to check that there was enough room for me to get the shots I had drawn up.

Inspiration Shot:

This was the first shot I drew up that inspired the whole plot of my screenplay. Once we checked this shot we realised it wouldn't work due to the architecture of the room, so we decided we would have to find a way to recreate the shot in the other location as it is pivotal for the aesthetic of my film (we had also just finished watching the newest episode of S7 Rick and Morty but that isn't a part of my story).

Outdoors/establishing shots:

This first shot was a part of the original shot concepts but I knew prior to this recee that it wouldn't be a part of the actual film because it didn't work (for the same reason the shot above doesn't work). However, following seeing how well the framing matched to how I had imagined it, we are deciding whether it will feature or not.

The second sequence of shots are important for the ending, I had drawn these ones up too but when I tried shooting it I realised a much better way of filming it than I had originally written down - rather than going from the first shot to have him walk through the arch, I would have him walk with his bike towards the camera and pass in front of it before leaving. I much preferred the second version and it works a lot better. The framing here was also a lot better than I thought it would be, I also worked out what distance I wanted to shoot from for the actual day.
